Who We Are

Bay Labs combines deep learning, a type of artificial intelligence, with cardiovascular imaging to help in the diagnosis and management of heart disease, the leading cause of death in the world. To achieve this vision, we've assembled a team of experts in machine learning, visual neuroscience, physics, medical devices, regulatory affairs, and cardiology.

What We Do

An echocardiographic exam takes ultrasound images of the heart and is the gateway to heart disease diagnosis. Given the specialized nature of the exam, it is difficult to acquire quality diagnostic images without extensive training and experience. Currently, many places lack access to medical professionals who can perform and interpret the exam effectively.

Cardiovascular disease accounts for one in every four deaths in the United States—approximately 610,000 people every year, according to the CDC1.

Bay Labs tackles both of these problems with its deep learning technology. Our algorithms are designed to help medical professionals of all skill levels perform and interpret echocardiograms. We want to ensure that every patient has access to effective and affordable medical imaging for greater wellness worldwide.

We believe in the power of deep learning to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. Our investors are leaders in venture capital including Khosla Ventures and Data Collective (DCVC). Additionally, Bay Labs was recognized as one of the most promising AI startups in the social impact category at NVIDIA's Inception competition in 2017.

Our Partners

We work with a trusted network of world-class clinical and academic partners: NewYork Presbyterian Hospital, Allina Health, Minneapolis Heart Institute, Northwestern Medicine, and Duke University School of Medicine.

Bay Labs’ technology complies with the national standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for data anonymization and healthcare transactions.
